Macmillan coffee morning raises top amounts
The cake display went on for miles, the coffee was hot, the prizes were standout and the auction was gripping. So it’s no surprise that Positive Recruitment and Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce raised a sterling £1462 at the Macmillan coffee morning back in September.
Director of Positive Recruitment Caroline Mellor and Business Services Manager from Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce Samantha Pover decided to host the event in order to raise money for the wonderful Macmillan charity, and pulled out all the stops for a fabulous coffee morning with a special twist.
Businesses came together for this special event and donated generously while indulging in helpings of Victoria sponge cake, pink doughnuts, brownies and browsed a fantastic pop up shop by Benjamin Rose Gifts.
As well as the homemade cakes and fresh coffee (kindly provided by The Lincoln Tea and Coffee Company), Caroline, Samantha, Stacey (Director Positive Recruitment) and Damien Howard-Pask (Managing Director at Purple Robot) all worked together to approach local businesses for prizes for the raffle and auction which helped raised a huge chunk of the money.
With thanks to donations from:
Plum Products, Branston Hall Hotel, Purple Robot, The British Hamper Company, Doddington Hall, Beauty Boulevard, 3D Wines and Catherine Shaw Cakes.
As well as raffle prizes from Pennell’s garden centre, Uncle Henry’s Farm shop, Kinema in the Woods, Flowers by Suzanne, LCFC and Sanctuary in the Bail.
Caroline Mellor said;
“The auction went far better than we could have ever imagined, and it was exciting when bidders went over two hundred pounds for some great prizes.
“We had a fantastic event and I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who helped, especially Samantha and Charlotte who served endless cakes and coffee, and to all those businesses mentioned.
