Leadenham Teahouse picked as a top 100 business
In it's fifth year in the UK, Small Business Saturday is an organisation that supports and promotes small, independent businesses on the lead up to Christmas. With the popularity of Black Friday and Cyber Monday that benefits large companies and chain shops, Small biz 100 will promote one business per day on social media, in the run-up to its own annual event on 2 December, 2017.
Leadenham Teahouse has been lucky enough to have been chosen as one of the 100 businesses in UK.
Michelle Ovens, director of Small Business Saturday, says: “The campaign has really captured the hearts of communities and it gains in traction year on year. This is not just because it’s a nice message, but because everyone gains from it: small businesses are getting new customers and revenues, customers are meeting new businesses that offer great service, great value and are run by local people who know your name when you walk through the door. It is not altruism – communities and the economy benefit when small businesses are better supported.
“Each year, we look for businesses that represent the best in British business. We look for geographical spread – from the north of Scotland, to the tip of Cornwall. We look for a range of business models, including high street and digital.”
As well as the promotion of the winning 100 on the Small Business Saturday social media feeds, Leadenham Teahouse has been invited to their annual Small Biz 100 celebration, The Blue Tie Event 2017 which will be held in Holborn, London on 5th October 2017. The Blue Tie Event is an annual celebration and acknowledgement of our Small Biz 100 and is an opportunity to meet fellow winning businesses.
Katie Mace, co-owner at Leadenham Teahouse, says "We feel exceptional proud to have been chosen to be part of Small Biz 100 this year. We both work in our business 6 days a week, and any acknowledgements is really exciting for us. Being invited to the Blue Tie Event in London is also a great opportunity to meet other thriving businesses, business owners and entrepreneurs also running small businesses.
Kirsty Kershaw co-owner, says, I'm so passionate about independent businesses, they bring creativity, imagination and a real eclectic mix to a high street or in our case, the Lincolnshire countryside.
Leadenham Teahouse has already been featured in the Guardian and will continue to receive national promotion. Their allocated social media day is Thursday September 21st, where we will be promoting what Leadenham Teahouse will be doing on Small Business Saturday.
To promote 'shopping small' Leadenham Teahouse is offering a variety of offers in their gift shop in September, the first promotion is 10% off Sophie Allport collections.
